Unlike other spas, Derma Technologies practices the highest form of team service. You will not be locked into one service provider. Meeting your needs and busy schedule is their top priority. Derma Technologies’ skill certification program ensures you that you can move from one service provider to another receiving a fresh perspective from time to time with confidence that you are in talented hands.
Schedule
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your first scheduled appointment.
Chi and hot House Room
Available to clients receiving any spa service or package (optional, complimentary and subject to availability).
Cancellation/ Reservation Policy
24-hour notice is required for all appointment cancellations (so we may fill your unneeded appointment with someone who would love that time), or the full amount will be charged. A credit card or gift certificate is needed to reserve appointments. As we understand our busy lives make remembering appointments difficult (even something as wonderful as a visit to Derma Technologies) we will call you to confirm 48 to 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
Returns
We do not refund or take return on gift cards, however they are transferable and reloadable. Because they are transferable and reloadable they can not be tracked, so please treat then as cash! We cannot trace them, lost cards are lost cash.
..note from Shari... when purchasing gift cards remember to tell the recipient they may bring the card to us and have the balance placed on their account, that way they will never risk losing it, and it will never expire! I never want anyone to face the disappointment of a lost gift to Derma Technologies.
Returns on retail products: Bumble and Bumble hair products, Merle Norman Cosmetics, Hylunia Skin Care, and Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics are 100% satisfaction guaranteed, exchange to a more preferred choice may be done at any time, refunds within 30 days will be accepted on unopened products. ~ O.P.I., Allpresan and Rhonda Allison Cosmeceutical returns within 30 days are accepted on unopened products only.
Robes
We provide a robe and slippers for "A Day at the Spa" visits as well as multiple spa visits.
What do I wear under my robe? Whatever you wish. It's best to remove your underwear to protect it from getting massage oil. Remember, your service provider is a professional and are great at "towel origami" ( so you will always be appropriately covered!).
When won't I change into a robe and slippers? If you're getting one service, for example, a facial, then we'll have you change in the room. We don't change for nail services in the salon, but we do for the Spa Pedicure done in the Head to Toe spa room.
If you're getting a pedicure you may want to bring a pair of sandals. We provide disposable ped slippers they are great for indoor wear, but to wear home they are not very sturdy.
If you are pregnant or nursing...
Skin Peels are not recommend if you are pregnant or nursing.
Essential Oils are not recommend if you are pregnant or nursing.
Spray Tanning is not recommend if you are pregnant or nursing. There is no known risks, but we just find it better to be safe.
Laser Hair Removal is not recommend if you are pregnant or nursing. Candela and Derma Technologies do not recommend laser during pregnancy or while nursing.
Body wraps are not recommend if you are pregnant or nursing. The combination of essential oils and heat is not advisable.
General Derma Technologies Factoids....
Waxing: Your hair needs to be 1/4 inch minimum. This would take 3-4 weeks normal growing time. Please do not schedule brazilian waxing during your cycle, if it surprises you, please call, the cancellation policy will not apply.
Spray Tanning: There is preparation required the day before a Fantasy Tan, please call for instruction so you are aware of the special requirements involved. Note: the receptionist will advise you of these requirements when confirming your appointment.
Special Requests Consult with your service provider before treatment to discuss your options, new offerings, and what might best benefit you. Please let her know any special needs each visit ( for example: I personally do not feel like I have had a facial unless I have blackheads removed! I know there are many great facials to address many different issues, many do not include extractions, so I always advise my service provider that I always want extractions too) to ensure satisfaction. It's easier for her to meet your needs if you tell her what you want. Your service provider will also make you aware of any extra charges associated with additional services that you might request. Our service menu is always available at the front desk for your price checks..
Monthly Specials There is a board in the reception area that lists our monthly specials (and on the web site if you want to check before you arrive), these specials are not advertised, they are in appreciation and for the benefit of the guests that visit us.
Etiquette
Do I have to talk to my massage therapist or esthetician? The service providers are trained to let you be the guide, just remember after a few minutes even those that like to chat will find that settling in will be much more relaxing.
Cell phones are not permitted, except in the Salon and reception area.
Should I tip? What's normal?
Leaving gratuities for work well done seems to be the norm, but of course, is optional. Most tips range from 15%-20% of the price of the service provided.
